My name is Mattt Guya.
In 2024, I changed my name by deed poll. I was previously Matt Broad.
My birth name was Matthew Richard Broad.
My parents later suggested I add John as another religious middle name. I declined.
I changed my name to Mattt Guya dropping religious and family negative memories.
My last name Guya, reflects my lifelong connection with Gaia, also known as Mother Nature.
Nature is also known as the Divine, Natural Life Force, Grandmother Earth, and many other names.
My first name Mattt contains three T's. The addition of the third T meant people would still know me by my former name ‘Matt’, but I was removing biblical references from ‘Matthew’.
Many of my family are deeply religious Christians. I am not religious.
My grandparents were Christian missionaries. This means they worked for God and the church.
By my observations while growing up, my parents were addicted to Christianity, the Bible, and Church.
I suffered a heavy and oppressive, controlling, attempt to indoctrinate me in to Christianity. I resisted and rejected the religion.
My experiences of Christianity were a mix of overwhelmingly negative, disturbing and troubling.
My negative experiences of Christianity were not about church leadership paedophilia. I was not aware of any paedophilia at the churches my family attended.
I was aware of what I would call energetic child abuse, and or, the abuse and assault of children, but as a child many British systems were underpinned by Christianity, and even now, this is still the case. I say this as today there is little point in expanding on this point. I will expand on it in the future.
